A look Back at the September Scrapbook Page

We had a wonderful time in our Scrapbooking Classes in September.

The Layout below used Bazzill textured card, Basic Grey Paper from the Cappella, Kioshi and June Bug ranges.

The ribbon is 7mm Satin ribbon.

The border was created with a Martha Stewart Doily Punch and paper.

Our Aperture was made using the Spellbinders Nestability Scalloped Circle.

We used a Craft Time Paper flower with a Brad from Paper Mania to embellish the corner of the frame.

The video shows three different colour versions of the layout.

All that is needed to finish the Layout is your photo.

Newsletter and Class list out now!

May Newsletter

Hello Crafters,

Firstly, I’d like to say a BIG thank you to everyone who came to our Demo day and helped make it such a great day. Our very own Sarah Boorman was demonstrating the Cuttlebug using Nestabilities, which we are now stocking, and the embossing folders from Provo Craft, while Mina Hartley showed us how to get perfect results using the NEW colours of Distress Inks along with the latest stamp designs from Magnolia (the arrival of which we are eagerly awaiting!).

Barbara and Norma both ran some fabulous Make and Takes which saw several of you going home with a lovely card and a pair of earrings! Dianes’ home baking also helped us raise another £32 for Marie Curie, a cause very close to mine and Richards hearts.

The new class list is available here. We will start taking bookings for these on

Saturday 1st May at 9.30 am

As usual you can book for as many or as few classes as you wish. Bookings can be made in person at the shop or by telephone (028 70354343) – unfortunately we are unable to take bookings by e-mail at this time. Once again we will be asking for payment in advance as this enables us to make the best use of our waiting lists, but anyone giving us 72hours notice of a cancellation will be entitled to a full refund.

We have had a lot of deliveries since the last Newsletter and so there are lots of new goodies in store! We have re stocked all of our beads from Viking Loom and also added some of their new colour mixes. We’ve also bought some gorgeous Two-Tone Papillon and 4mm Rocailles which Barbara has used in the Multi strand necklace (see class details overleaf) as well as some great value Jewellery Kits. These kits are perfect for beginners as well as making a lovely gift. Retailing at just £14.99, they contain everything you need to make a pretty necklace including instructions, beads, findings and even a pair of pliers!

We’ve two new ranges of paper from Basic Grey, Kioshi and Green at Heart, and are expecting two more (Cappella and Max & Whiskers)within the next couple of weeks.

The Lace Doily punch from Martha Stewart is back in stock, although we are still waiting for some of the other designs to come in.

For the stampers amongst you we have a limited amount of great acrylic stamp sets in, with designs from Nellie Snellen and Kitty de Wolf. With prices starting from just £1.50 you could pick yourself up a real bargain.

If you are short of ideas and unable to make classes then you may be interested in the latest Creativity Magazine. Packed full of ideas and with a free CD it is well worth the £2.50 cover price.

Oh, and don’t forget, our next Second Saturday Special is on Saturday 8th May.

I think that is most things for now.

I hope to see you soon, but until then happy crafting!

Sara

and the use of our equipment should you need it.

Quick and Easy Cards
In this class, you'll create several simple cards designed for when you need a beautiful card
quickly.

Sarah's Year in Cards
This six week series is a repeat of last years course where Sarah Boorman will be guiding us
through making a year in cards. From Birth to With Sympathy and everything in between
including Birthday, Anniversary, New Home and Congratulations, these classes, with three
different cards each week, should cover every card you might ever you need to send.

February Scrapbooking
Once again you'll be creating a 12 x 12 double page scrapbook layout.

Wedding Invitations
If you are thinking of making your own wedding stationary – then this class is perfect for
you. We will guide you through various techniques and designs to show you how to get a
professional finish without breaking the bank

One for the Ladies
The cards that you'll be making in this class have been designed with a distinctly feminine
theme.

Gentleman Caller
If you struggle with card ideas for men, then this is the class for you. These cards are
designed with a distinctly masculine theme.

More Than Words
In this all day workshop we will be making cards covering a range of occasions where
expressing the thought or sentiment is key.

Cricut Cards
You don't have to have the machine to enjoy this class. We'll be making some fabulous cards
using various shapes cut using the Cricut machine

March  Scrapbooking

Once again you'll be creating a 12 x 12 double page scrapbook layout.
Fabulous Flowers
Barbara shows us how to make this fantastic, contemporary flower necklace using colourful
pre-knitted wire.

I Felt That!
This class concentrates on using a combination of felt beads and flowers with chain to make
a chunky, fashionable necklace.

Beaded Candle
In this class you will create a stunning decorative candle ideal to use as a centre piece for a
wedding table, to give as a pretty gift or indeed to brighten up your own home now that
Christmas decorations have been put away.

Crocheted Cuff
Once you have mastered crocheting with wire and beads, take it one step further. In this
class you will create a beautiful beaded cuff which can be chunky or delicate according to
your own taste.

Bridal Workshop
In this all day workshop Barbara will be showing you how to work with wire, crystals and
pearls to create a pretty hair comb and stunning tiara. Ideal for that special day.

Button Up!
So many of you loved making the button necklace that Barbara designed a bracelet, earrings
