January Scrapbooking

If you are just getting started on a scrapbook or simply want some layout ideas, then this is the class for you. Each month I'll be designing a 12 x 12 double page layout for you to create leaving it ready to just pop your photographs in place.

Mina Hartley with Magnolia

Back due to popular demand! Mina will be working with our fabulous Magnolia stamps and using Distress Inks to show you how to create the perfect skin tone and how to shade your image for stunning results every time.

You don't have to have the machine to enjoy this class. We'll be making some fabulous cards using various shapes cut using the Cricut machine

Jewellery Classes

Introduction to Jewellery Making
If you don’t know your head pins from your crimp beads, then this is the class for you! Barbara will be showing us how to use crimp beads and jump rings, how to attach a clasp and how to turn a head pin perfectly. You’ll then put these skills into practice by making a necklace to take home.

Introduction to Crocheted Wire
Learn how to turn this simple technique into a stunning necklace, using wire and a selection of beads – perfect even if you’ve never crocheted before.

Fabulous Flowers
Barbara shows us how to make this fantastic, contemporary flower necklace using colourful pre-knitted wire.

I Felt That!
This class concentrates on using a combination of felt beads and flowers with chain to make a chunky, fashionable necklace.

Beaded Candle
In this class you will create a stunning decorative candle ideal to use as a centre piece for a wedding table, to give as a pretty gift or indeed to brighten up your own home now that Christmas decorations have been put away.

Crocheted Cuff
Once you have mastered crocheting with wire and beads, take it one step further. In this class you will create a beautiful beaded cuff which can be chunky or delicate according to your own taste.

Bridal Workshop
In this all day workshop Barbara will be showing you how to work with wire, crystals and pearls to create a pretty hair comb and stunning tiara. Ideal for that special day.

Button Up!
So many of you loved making the button necklace that Barbara designed a bracelet, earrings and ring to compliment it, so why not come along and complete the set.

Newsletter January 2010

Hello Crafters,

Happy New Year to you all! I look forward to seeing you all now that the worst of the weather seems to be cleared and the pavements are no longer like a skating rink!

Overleaf is a list of classes and workshops that are coming up in February and March. We will start taking bookings for these on :

Bookings can be made in person at the shop or by telephone (028 70354343) - unfortunately we are unable to take bookings by e-mail at this time. Once again we will be asking for payment in advance as this enables us to make the best use of our waiting lists, but anyone giving us 72hours notice of a cancellation will be entitled to a full refund.

Just arrived in store are the two new ranges of 12 x 12 paper from Basic Grey- Origins (lovely vintage prints in greens, browns, and yellows) and Sugar Rush ( a pretty mixture of pinks and blues).

I've also ordered 3 new paper ranges from Graphic 45 and 'Flutter' from Making Memories. Both are due in at the beginning of February.

We continue to add to our range of Cricut Cartridges that are available to hire- at a cost of £5 per week. If you own a Cricut Machine you may wish to make use of this service which allows you to get more from your machine without the expense of buying lots of different cartridges.

I have two new contacts for Jewellery making supplies and we will be expanding our range of beads and findings over the next couple of months, so do keep an eye out for those.

Our Second Saturday Specials provided some of you with great savings on Card, Jewellery making and Scrapbooking supplies in 2009 and we aim to continue this into 2010. The next one will be on the 13^th February.

But remember- you have to come into the shop to find which fantastic offer we have on!
